Feeling buried by surprise expenses?
Feeling buried by surprise interest?

The Challenge

Develop and deliver a breakthrough social media outreach program aimed at identifying Check ’n Go borrowers in California who may be entitled to significant refunds for interest, fees and finance charges.

More cash in hand. More time on the clock.
Too little time? Too much interest?

The Solution

Design display ads for digital media that tap into high-arousal feelings to drive people to share content. The satirical ads would offer a pro-consumer twist on Check 'n Go's familiar marketing ads, skewering the payday lender's exorbitantly high-interest rates and fees, positing questions like, "Feeling Bitter About Your Payday Lender?" and urging borrowers to "Get a Refund."

When the unexpected does it damage. Get cash with payments you can manage.
When the unexpected does it damage. And Payday lenders charge high interest and fees.

The Result

The campaign's statewide network of more than 160 community partners drove the majority of online click-throughs. The parody ads linked visitors to the claim form on the program’s website, which dramatically increased the response rate of claimants
