Carrotmob at Bernie's
An unexpected political candidate meet and greet for the Rebecca Prozan for Supervisor campaign.
The Challenge
Devise a creative and unexpected political candidate meet-and-greet event for the Rebecca Prozan for Supervisor campaign.
The Solution
Typical candidate meet-and-greet events focus more on the candidate and less on the community. By focusing on the candidate's core strength of community engagement for the greater good, we could deliver an inspiring event that would create a memorable experience, build excitement within the community, and make a positive change.
Our team organized a grassroots Carrotmob event and united the community around a positive common cause.
Carrotmob encourages businesses to compete in bidding wars to see who will do the most good for the environment, then rewards the business with a mob of consumers to make massive group purchases. It's the opposite of a boycott. The events are called Carrotmob because they use the 'carrot' instead of the 'stick' to encourage businesses to change.
The Result
In three short hours, Bernie's quadrupled profits, grossing almost the same amount in that time as the coffee shop does in a full day. Bernie's reinvested 40% of those sales back into the business for green improvements, making Bernie's Coffee more sustainable, and making the event a win-win for the Prozan campaign, Bernie's and the community.
